We find that many buyers are confused by PayPal eCheques, mainly because they are unaware that this type of payment has been used. Buyers may select this type of payment however more often PayPal defaults to it, often leaving the buyer unaware that their purchases will be delayed. This is normally because the buyers Credit/Debit Card has expired or is no longer valid. If you were unaware that your payment method was by eCheque we suggest you check your PayPal Credit Card details.
eCheques will take 10 days to clear. You can check the expected clearance date by checking your PayPal account on paypal.co.uk
If you need your item sooner we are pleased to accept instant payment by card (for amounts over £5) over the phone. We will then refund your eCheque. We can also take payment by Postal Order (Uncrossed and payable to Bamford Trading (UK) Ltd) Instant bank transfer is also available for holders of HSBC and First Direct bank accounts.

Q. What is an eCheque?
A. An eCheque is an electronic funds transfer that withdraws money directly from your bank account. It's just like writing a cheque, only it is done electronically. When you send money with an eCheque, the transaction will be held as pending for seven to nine working days, until the electronic funds transfer has cleared your bank.
Q. What is the status of my eCheque and what does it mean?
A. Instant Bank Transfers/eCheques sent from your bank to your PayPal account usually take seven to nine working days to process. Holidays and weekends are not recognised as working days for most banking facilities, which may result in a delay in your banking transactions. You can view the status of your transaction in your History log. The status of your Instant Bank Transfers/eCheque will be one of the following:
Pending - You requested a bank funding transfer
Completed - Your funds transfer has been completed
Cancelled - The payment has been cancelled
Q. Why does it take so long for my recipients account balance to reflect my eCheque payment?
A. It will take seven to nine working days for the electronic funds transfer to be completed and for the funds to become available to the recipient of your payment. Your recipient's balance will not reflect your eCheque payment until the funds transfer is complete.
